I haven't had much of a chance to write this month with many thing happening in my life, a lot of them being pretty stressful. But I thought I would would jot down some updates!
Valentines Day this year was nice we weren't really planning on doing much since I had Owen, as it was a Monday, so Andy took it upon himself to find a babysitter (his Mom) and plan a date. We doubled with his little brother Dan and his girlfriend Mariah. We went to dinner at Cadillac Ranch at Mall of America and saw No Stings Attached, which was surprisingly very very funny!
Owen unfortunately has had some regression lately, he has gotten some attitude problems and has begun to wet his pants when he is playing. He has been mainly potty trained for months now and he only goes when he is "busy" and only enough so he is more comfortable. It has been very trying on my patience and frustrating as he is usually a better listener. I do NOT enjoy his time outs. Other than that he is wonderful as usual! He knows the ABC's which he will pretty much only sing if you bribe him, loves Scooby Doo, and is still obsessed with popsicles.
February is the month of my and Andy's anniversary. This year will be our second! I am looking forward to it, I think I will try to postpone our celebration until I get my taxes back and it is a day we don't have little buddy.
March is going to be CRAZY Ali and Brad are getting married!!! So since they moved the date up from August to March we have a LOT to do this next month. We have two bridal showers, a bachelorette party, probably some birthday cake (they are getting married on their birthdays, yes they share the same day and now their wedding date is that day too!!! How COOL is that?!?!) wedding cake, nails, hair, make-up... Wedding, reception. And oh yeah, the day before the wedding Andy and I are going to Kenny Chesney with his buddy AJ and his wife Briana. Kenny is more Andy and AJ's thing, as they have been planning on a Kenny concert for literally years, and it is finally happening for them. :) It was unfortunate timing with the wedding, but it is all working out and Ali is being very understanding about us having bought the tickets before they changed the date of their wedding.
We have taken to watching some documentaries on Netflix and we recently watched Food Matters as well as Food Inc. Food Matters is good, but Food Inc. is life changing. I never really cared much about the animals treatment until I saw that documentary. It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch how the cows, pigs, and chickens are mistreated. It was sickening and I definitely think about it every single time I have eaten meat since watching it. The movie also sent a strong message about the price we are paying for cheap and convenient food, health wise. Did you know cows were not made to be corn consumers, they are supposed to eat grass. But since we can mass produce corn for so cheap, they make the cows eat it anyway. Did you know if we stopped forcing the cows to eat corn 80% of the E-Coli that is in their fecal matter that makes us sick would be instantly eradicated in a week? But... Corn is cheap feed, it makes the cows fat, and they don't care if we get E-Coli. I will be eating more tofu, vegetables, and fruit. (ORGANIC!!) My recommendation is WATCH THIS DOCUMENTARY!!!
This is the point in the year that I get so sick of winter and am more than ready for summer. Bring on the sun, heat, and poolside lounging! I am so excited for this summer, we have a pool here at the apt and I hope to be out there with Owen a lot this summer. I can't wait for playgrounds, walks outside, and maybe even some picnics! Just imagining it makes my S.A.D go away a teeny bit. :)
Well, there is the overview of what has been going on, what is going on, and what will be going on soon!
